The Malaysian Accounting Standards Board (MASB) recognises the important role of those teaching MFRS's in developing capacity to apply MFRS's rigorously and consistently. To support those teaching MFRS's, the MASB, in collaboration with the IFRS Foundation and the Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA), is organising a two-day 'Framework-based IFRS teaching' workshop on 14 to 15 June 2015 at Le Meridien Hotel, Kuala Lumpur.
The two-day workshop will demonstrate the Framework-based approach to teaching IFRS. The experienced facilitators will explain the rationale for and the benefits of the framework-based teaching approach. They will describe the link between objectives, concepts, principles and rules in IFRS and explore when and how judgement and estimates are used in IFRS. Participants will work with IFRS case studies to develop their understanding.
